Project/Activities:Community Service events:
- Pancake Breakfast: On Veteran’s day, my peers and I made pancakes for veterans and the community. To show how thankful we are for them.
- Community Clean-up: I walked around my community and parks to pick up trash along streets and sidewalks.
- After-School Program Tutor “Center 360”: I worked with youth between the grades K-8 grade. This after-school program was community service. This after-school program was a place for kids to come after school to keep them off the streets and help them complete homework and learn many academic skills.
- Protest for School Funding: I protested and voiced my opinions on the school needing funding—this upper-level march for the charter school to re-funding like public schools. Charter schoolsVarsity provide an excellent education for minority children, so I felt they deserve the same funding as a public school.
- March Of Dimes: March of Dimes believes in a world where every mom and baby is healthy regardless of wealth, race, gender or geography. The U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for families of color. Through research, programs and advocacy, our supporters enable us to be there for parents throughout their pregnancies. I helped the charity event that helped raise money for research.
- Hot Chocolate Run: This event was a marathon that helped raise awareness for the St. Jude Cancer patients research. I worked alongside My fraternity brothers in helping set up the city wide event in Charlotte STUDENT INVOLVEMENT/AWARDS:
