ER Tech assists nurses in helping patients with basic needs. This includes helping patients with anything that they need assistance with, taking basic vitals, and using the equipment which is required. ER Tech is also trained in phlebotomy; this means they are able to take blood samples. They are also responsible for taking blood samples for the police in legal draws. They are responsible for taking care of any paperwork that is needed for any patient that needs to be transferred to another facility.

This course went over the responsibilities of a surgical technologist in preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care. This includes setting up the OR before the procedure while maintaining a sterile environment, assisting the surgeon during the procedure, and maintaining a sterile environment until the patient is out of the OR.
