All students summarized. I told them gently that I had not asked for a summary and reread the first chapter. I then went to my office and wrote my own opinion. I suggested they do the same. When I returned, I read a heart wrenching opinion about what I felt and my opinion. They followed suit. From then on, I taught them how to find an opinion in everything they read.
