I was lead man in our crew and worked closely with the foreman in planning the scope of the job as in what columns and beams to erect. I would shake out the steel in appropriate staging areas. I operated the forklift and locate steel members and would feed the crane, or erect them myself. I would Shake out decking and land them on the steel to their appropriate locations, fasten the sheets with either shot pins or by puddle weld. I would also rig steel pieces to the crane and use appropriate signals to guide the crane. Trouble shoot problems that should arise and make the necessary adjustments.
