Employment History

Child Welfare Case Manager

10/2016 to present

As a child welfare Case Manager with Devereux Case Management Organization, I work with families that have had an abuse report called in on them and have had their children removed by Child Protective Investigators.. As a Case Manager, my duties involved regular visits with the children and birth parents, compilation of court ordered case plans, judicial reviews and progress reports. Appearances in court, taking children to appointments and to parental visits are also within my daily duties. As a full time case manager, I have anywhere from 13 to 18 cases and 23 – 35+ children at a time.

Nurturing Parenting Coach

05/2015 – 10/2016

As a Nurturing Parenting Coach for Devereux Kids, I visited homes that had an abuse report called in on them. If it was decided that there was a risk of harm to the children that could be monitored by a service provider rather than remove the children, Devereux’s Parenting program was one of those service providers. In-home parenting lasted 12 weeks. During that time the curriculum covered the parents own parenting and philosophy, discipline, respect, proper boundaries and more. Duties included development of a case plan and curriculum, lesson plan development, and activities that included the whole family’s participation.

Working in bridal and formal shops and in my home, I have altered everything from a simple hem, to a ten thousand dollar Thomasina wedding gown. While living in South Carolina, I had the pleasure of working with Miss America Contestants and Miss USA contestants, altering their clothes and designing interview and talent costumes. As long as I am able and have time, I will always sew and alter things for clients.

Honors & Activities

I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa and have maintained a 3.5 and higher GPA since I began school in the fall of 2007. I have completed my Associates in Human Services as well as my Bachelors in Human Services. I have a solid background in gerontology and have worked in and out of the field for the last twenty years as a Medical insurance biller, Pharmacy Technician, CNA, PCA, physical therapist assistant, activity director assistant and medicine tech. I have worked in the Public School system intermittently for the last six years and love being with children and adult learners. I am an accomplished seamstress and for the last 15 years I have been a student and worked from home specializing in bridal and formal wear during the bridal, homecoming and prom seasons to this day.
