CURRENTLY I AM IN THE PROCESS OF SWITCHING CAREERS. MY ENTIRE LIFE CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN MY CAREER, FOR 30 YEARS, BUT NOW WITH ME GETTING OLDER AND BEING RECENTLY MARRIED GOALS ARE DIFFERENT. NOW I HAVE A FAMILY THAT DEPENDS ON ME TO PROVIDE. WHICH IS THE MAIN REASON WHY I ENROLLED AT GUILFORD TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR MY ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE IN HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING TECHNOLOGIES. FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS I RESEARCHED EVERY CONSTRUCTION TRADE THAT I MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN AND TOOK EVERY ASPECT IN TO CONSIDERATION, FROM THE PAY TO THE INSURANCE AND ALL BENEFITS TO THE HOURS. SO, HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING WAS THE CHOICE I MADE. SO, I STARTED MY DEGREE 2 SEMESTERS AGO AND SO FAR, I HAVE EARNED 15 EMPLOYABILITY CERTIFICATES. AND I HAVE EARNED MY UNIVERSAL 608'S. M Y GOAL IS TO GET THIS DEGREE AND AS MANY CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS I POSSIBLY CAN, AND ATLEAST MY BACHELERS IN HVAC AND POSSIBLY THE MASTERS. WE WANT TO HAVE A DECENT LIFE AND HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW FOR THIS TIME IN THIS WORLD. SO, IN CONCLUSION HVAC SEEMED LIKE THE BEST CHOICE TO ACCOMPLISH EVERYTHING WE ARE STRIVING FOR, I AM A VERY FAST LEARNER AND A HARD WORKER. AND WILLING TO LEARN JUST NEED SOMEONE TO GIVE ME A CHANCE.MY CURRENT GOAL IS TO GET A JOB IN THE HVAC FIELD SO I CAN GET MY HOURS FOR MY STATE LICENSE. ME DOING THIS DEGREE GIVES ME 2,000 HOURS, SO I NEED TO EARN THE OTHER 2,000 HOURS ON THE JOB. THANK YOU FOR THE TIME AND FOR THE OPPORTUNITY. Authorized to work in the US for any employer

Maintenance Technician

Carolina Community Management - Greensboro, NC

Me and the maintenance crew take care of any problem the tenants have from a clogged toilet up to remodeling the entire unit. The owner has 5 apartment complexes' with over 1,200 units total from GREENSBORO to WINSTON SALEM and she owns about 10 to 15 houses that she flips at any given time. When we leave the unit the owner and the tenant are satisfied. We always complete the work in a timely fashion and when we leave the tenant will not know that we have been there. Contact Info

Carpenter/Contractor

Rays Complete Home Services - Mooresville, NC

March 1992 to December 2016

When I started this job my job title was a laborer. And this would be the job that stuck with me the most. The owner of this company taught me everything I needed to know. He trained me in every aspect of construction. I was trained on how to lead the crew, was taught exactly how to figure material lists, bids, proposals. He taught me how to just about anything in construction. He taught me how to do the office end. So, when I finally did leave this job, he had taught me more than the job he taught me the whole business.
