While assigned to General Dynamics I started in the tire shop, following all company safety policies and wearing all proper personal protective equipment (PPE). I worked as part of a team rebuilding Stryker tires. Inspecting, cleaning & disassembling tires from the rim halves using the Coats tire machine. Palletizing old tires & newly rebuilt tire assemblies, wrapping them in appropriate stretch wrap using the computerized stretch wrap machine. Used overhead crane to move and lift tires for various operations.
Assigned to the Vetronics section, I followed the service manual and company policy to rebuild height management sensors. Disassembly, sandblasting & cleaning with a Cuda aqueous machine of old sensors. Ordering of necessary repair parts, enter data into specialized database. Test fit all parts making all final adjustments or cleaning as needed. Assemble each unit according to appropriate service manual and instructions from supervisors. Make critical adjustments to potentiometer of sensors using multimeter to accurately adjust each sensor to specification. Finish assembly and final test of all electrical circuits. Prepared for QA/QC inspection and sent to paint shop.
