EXPERIENCE
Lolos Chicken n Waffles, 366 N Gilbert, Gilbert Az 85234 - Server May 2022- current
This position being a server has taught and shown me so much. My responsibility in this company played a big role in my belief. I first started out at Lolos in a hosting position. During this time, I would greet guests as they come in & out the doors. I would also show the customers where they would be sitting and make sure it’s a comfortable seating arrangement for their size of party. During the hosting position, it’s a responsibility to help out the servers by bussing tables to get the next guest seated. After about 6-7 months of working at lolos I moved into the serving position & learned so much great hospitality and customer service skills during this time. In this position it was my responsibility to have a section of the restaurant that I would be serving. I always try to shoot for the biggest section with the most tables. As soon as a table is seated in my section, I immediately walk up and start to introduce myself by my name and their server. After introduction I offer them drinks and inform them of any drink specials currently available and grab the tables drink orders. Before heading off to go make them as quickly as I can, this is a time where I offer appetizers or other food specialties happening. One last thing I always do before making drinks is verify, if they are ready to order or if they need time have more time to view over the menu. Customers will be regulars sometimes, and already know what they want, and what they will be ordering. When getting drinks I always checking everything looks right, and I don’t hand out a soda that taste flat or a drink that’s no good. As I take food orders I make eye contact with the customer and put in the food order as I read it back to verify I got everything in correctly. If there are additional items I always ask if there’s anything I could take off. I also then ask if there’s anything they would like to add on extra onto their meal. After I quickly and thoroughly go through the whole table with everybody’s order I always ask one more time if anything else I could grab for them. I am running around cleaning making sure nobody needs anything and everyone is attended to. As food gets placed in the window to be sent out, I verify everything is correct. We never make sure food sits in the window for too long. As soon as it’s done being plated, with the rest of the food following behind it, run it. after everything is prepared and sit down at the table I ask them what else can I bring out for them and how the food looks to them. I accommodate any extra additives they will need, such as sauces, Refills, etc.. Once they have successfully received anything and everything they need to enjoy their meal, I then inform them, I will be close around and let me know if I can bring out anything for them. after some time of tables enjoying their food, I always go around and check up on how food is tasting attend accommodations from customers. As they get closer to the end if boxes are needed, to go bowls, to go cups, and bags I bring it all out from them and when I reach the table to hand off their boxes, I exchange from them any plates to take out of their ways to make more room on the table for boxing up. After I take the plates, I return with the bill and offer to take away more plates and bag up the boxes to go. Whenever they are ready for me to take their payment, I do so and inform them what a pleasure it was to serve. Whenever I was opening I would always set up everything perfectly for all the servers to have everything they need to serve. I would make all the Koolaids, lemonades, unsweetened, sweet teas & Brooklynn Bragna

coffee we would need for the day. I cut lemons that we need, I set and warm up the syrup & bring out everything that’s needed for the day.
After a year of working for Lolos, We lost out on a bartender & I started to get behind the bar and get familiar with the liquor and how to bartend. I would still have a section of the restaurant to serve and still be behind the bar, tending and making servers their drinks, their customers have ordered as well in being the bartending role. It was definitely a good first time learning experience and I gained so much knowledge because I really got to take my time during the week days, during our slow days. So when the weekends did rolled around, it was very easy to quickly bartend. I would close every shift I worked. As being closer it was a responsibility to make sure everything was cleaned, and have everything stocked for the next co-workers that roll in the morning to have. As part of closing, I would have to clean the back where the food got placed in the window & where fountain drinks were. I would first start putting everything away, bringing things to the dish pit, & in the refrigerator etc… We also had Kool Aid, lemonade & teas mechanics. I drained and cleaned all the mechanics & put the machines back together every night. After putting things away and cleaning machines, I would then wipe down everything. If it is past closing time I will turn off any heat lamps that were on for the day. I would. take off the soda nozzles and continue wiping down the counters, the machines, the soda fountain, Any stainless steel was always wiped before leaving. I would clean and wipe down coffee machine. I would always wiped the doors, everything was always done right. After I would get done wiping everything, I move onto cleaning the floors in the back. After I am done cleaning the back I move to the front and start closing up there. This includes making sure all tables are wiped and facing the right direction. After all tables have been clean, I would then start to sweep and get everything off the floor. After the restaurant has been swept at the end of the night. I then fill up the mop bucket & get started with mopping. I grab all hot sauce bottles n refill them when mopping is completed & at least roll 1 bucket of silverware every night.
