They have me make drinks while also taking orders through the drive thru, which shows that I’m familiar with multitasking, and I can assure you that I’m fairly good at it as well. I worked in a Mexican Grocery store and some of the tasks I had to perform were stocking merchandise, carrying heavy boxes into a back room, I managed the register, cleaned the store, and helped customers. It’s a very ethnic store which attracted many people with different cultural backgrounds due to products you can only find in one’s homeland. This required me to translate what my coworkers were trying to communicate to someone who didn’t speak Spanish, as well as requiring me to translate anything a non- Spanish speaking person couldn’t. This made me converse and communicate with people every minute of the day, which led me to being able to hold a conversation and offer assistance. It made me out-going and took any shyness I had. The job wasn’t for someone who had trouble speaking with others and it just proved that I’m very sociable and approachable since I interacted with customers every second. Additional Information
I am enrolled in AVID, which is basically a program that gets you ready for college and requires you to show commitment, as well as organizational skills. The program requires each student to be involved in volunteer service which means I’m always assisting people. That being said, being a volunteer requieres for someone ti socialize and I found it fairly easy to be that person. I am always approaching people and vice versa, which just exemplifies that I’ll be able to interact with any time of person that walks into the store! This also means that I can adapt to anything without having to be unconscious of why it’s happening!
