Reg. Full-Time Lecturer-Counseling Psychology/Chairperson on Dissertations
To Whom It May Concern,
I am exploring a new opportunity and a career change. I have found it in your Full-Time Lecturer-Counseling Psychology role within The Graduate School of Psychology and Counseling. I believe that I can positively contribute to the institution. Particularly skilled with substance use disorders.
I have extensive experience and would like to have the opportunity to pass the knowledge on to the younger generation. My experience is highlighted as follows:
I am currently employed by Samaritan Daytop Village as a Supervisor in the Shelter-In-Reach initiative since November 2023 and have recently completed my Doctoral Degree in Addiction Counseling. I desire to transition my skills to serve in a wider role where I will engage with larger groups, especially students. I pride myself on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion with a gender-sensitive approach and awareness, and cross-functional team collaborations, among other areas of expertise.
I am currently seeking to pivot toward teaching and counseling students. I have mentored and managed a top-performing team of highly skilled case managers and housing specialists dedicated to continually enhancing care and services.
Aside from having a doctoral in Addiction Counseling, I hold an M.A. in Human Service Counseling from Regent University. I also graduated with a B.A. in Psychology (Minor in Sociology) from Herbert H. Lehman College. I am recognized as a Master CASAC by the State of New York. I am proficiently fluent in Spanish and am eligible to sit in for the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) test if I choose to.
Furthermore, I demonstrate experience in completing psychosocial family assessments, including assessing clients’ needs and facilitating linkages to services. I also expertly evaluate families for specific stressors and consult with professional and/or technical personnel to implement multidisciplinary approaches to client care and well-being.
A sample of my recent accomplishments include:
Supporting a Spanish-speaking population throughout all service initiatives.
Contributing skill in strength-based, solutions-focused, and family-centered practices.
Serving as the designated agency/program liaison to community agencies and/or groups.
Educating team members on clients’ psychosocial stressors and needs to optimize positive outcomes.
I have experience facilitating groups, giving assignments, and following up with answers and resources to my students. Who in this case were chemically dependent individuals. Please visit my LinkedIn page at www.linkedin.com/in/drabilbraut for more insights into my experience, drive, and passions.
I am eager to discuss how my qualifications uniquely match your current needs, and I look forward to interviewing with you soon.
Sincerely,
Dr. Audrey Bilbraut, Ph.D., MHSC, BA, CASAC-M
