August 2022 - May 2023 (6hrs/week)
Through the Health Systems Academy at my school, Papillion La Vista South High School, I was given the amazing opportunity to gain experience on various floors of several hospital while working as a certified nursing assistant. Each week, I completed a total of 6 clinical hours on the floor as a part of my learning at the Health Academy. Within the hours that I was on the floor helping as a CNA, although I was not getting paid, I am trusted with and given the same responsibilities that the CNA’s on the floor have. This includes performing all of the skills that I have been taught throughout my CNA program, as well as being able to learn new skills on the floor, and adapt to whatever the staff needs of me. I care for a wide range of patients such as adults, children, infants and children with special needs. These hours have been very beneficial to my learning and experience, as well as my future in the healthcare field. LIFEGUARD
