Dacy McElroy’s Cover Letter for Sterile Processing Dear Hiring Manager,

Thank you for reviewing my application and resume for Sterile Processing Technician position. I am excited to begin my career path in the medical field using the CRCST certification and have recently passed the national certification exam. I have received training on the central service workflow process for cleaning, decontamination, preparation, and packaging to sterilization and storage of surgical instruments and equipment. I am looking to complete clinical hours to gain full certification and would love the opportunity to speak with you further about an opportunity with your organization that benefits my desire to gain full certification and to support your central service department needs.

While I do not have direct experience in healthcare, I do have experience managing daily household routines and customer service experience in fast food in which I have gained transferrable skills that will allow me to adapt to a medical environment. I have successfully juggled various household and parental responsibilities that have stemmed from a well-managed schedule highlighting my time management abilities. Prior to making the change to being a homemaker, I was a loyal and reliable employee of a fast-paced food chain which allowed me the opportunity to understand the importance of proper sanitation to prevent cross contamination. Though it does not directly relate, this significant understanding of safety and sanitation is a great starting point for this career path and can only grow with additional hands-on training paired with online training already received. My interest in Sterile Processing sparked when I discovered more about the surgical process through loved ones’ recent experiences. After gaining insight, I feel I have the motivation to and drive to succeed in this field and am ready to impact others' lives by ensuring safety through proper procedures of decontamination and sterilization. I have the upmost confidence that I will adapt and then thrive working in a central services department using my transferrable procedures with meticulous attention to detail. Thank you for your time reviewing my application materials. I eagerly wait to hear back from you and would love the opportunity to speak more about my training and interest in your organization. It would be an honor to join your dynamic team! I can be reached at
