Mobile Phlebotomist
Premier Lab Solutions - San Diego, CA
February 2023 to October 2023
I drove to multiple assisted living facilities (mostly nursing homes) for routine/STAT draws along with picking up other samples (stool, UA, wound scrapes, sputum, etc.) as directed by the company dispatcher. I made sure that venipuncture collections were done in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Ensured that specimens were properly labeled, in the proper tube and accompanied by a completed requisition, including patient billing information prior to transport.
• Planned and organized draw schedule to priority of patients.
• Worked independently with the help of dispatch's direction via email.
• Maintained all needed equipment within my mobile phlebotomy box, and stocked it before every shift and/or new facility. Was well organized and clean.
• When I was out in the field, I had to answer the company's correspondence promptly, to know which facility I needed to go to next. Was pretty much on stand-by until my shift was over.
• I had to drop of specimen's at the hub at certain times when the lab would come and pick them up to be tested. I would make sure that specimens were properly stored, spun, and properly labeled before leaving to the next facility.
