Car Price Prediction and Sales Price Strategy Setting Project, Northeastern University Jan. 2023 - Apr. 2023
• Data Processing: Collected and processed data of car prices with different brands and attributes from Kaggle, cleaned the data, and outputted a CSV file without outliers and invalid values, which has 5 categorical, 15 numerical predictors, and 17238 rows.
• Statistical exploration: Conducted hypothesis testing and ANOVA to determine the confidence interval of price fluctuation.
• PCA: Conducted PCA including getting dummies, normalization, and standardization, to reduce 2 dimensions and redundancy of the price data.
• Forcasting Model: Developed 5 numerical prediction models, including Linear Regression, KNN, Random Forest tree, Decision Tree, and Neural Nets to predict price based on 4 error metrics and gains and lift charts to select the best-fitting model.
• Customer Analysis: Explored popular brand and customer’s preference regarding customer’s age, period and area by Matplotlib and Seaborn packages.
• Pricing Strategy: Created a report to present how different attributes determined the car price, provided a trend of pricing interval depending on cars’ mileage and brands and suggestions. Delivery Chain Relationship Study and Management Project, Northeastern University Jan. 2023 – Apr. 2023
• Modeling: Built EER and UML model, owning 12 entities, to display the relationship of delivery time and methods between the deliver company, customer, order, merchant company, and supervision department by diagrams.
• Data Management: Managed the data by creating the schema and catalog, and importing 16 tables and schema into MySQL workbench to save platforms’ time in retrieving order details from different tables and improved shipping quality.
• EDA: Analyzed distribution and the delivery pattern based on the order number and preference by a pie chart and histogram in the different regions by Python, which helped with dividing the delivery region to reduce the delivery time by 23%. • Dashboard Development: Developed an interactive dashboard, joined tables, and utilized dimension and measure filters to select data lying in time dimension, filtered countries to zoom from world map into the country map, visualized multiple data layers simultaneously with Tableau, and uploaded the dashboard to the cloud and link with database to update simultaneously.
