Animal/Farm/Orchard/Garden/Crop Care in Raleigh, North Carolina for a friend of a friends’ family. I took care of all of the animals on the farm, feeding, watering, mucking, and systematic stall changes, while the residential family was living abroad in Bali. They own about 5 acres with a big ol family of 5 horses, 10 peacocks, 20 or so chickens, and about a dozen goats and 3 boarder collies; Zeke, Jodie and Ginger. I have a husky and a Karelian bear dog, and I know how to maintain an alpha position and keep control over a group of animals. Dogs are particularly my favorite and the ones I resonate with the most. I also tended to the crops, the garden and the orchard, happily and religiously and worked to upkeep the property as needed.

2012-2016: Barn and Horse Boarding Stable-hand.
My job was riding all of the younger mustangs, trying to break them for their owners to make their rides more pleasant. I also cleaned and oiled tack, reorganized bridles, watered the arenas, mucked stalls, putting new shavings in, turning out horses, walking the older ones, placing the food in the feeders at night and making sure all the lights are off.
Often we’d have younger family and friends/ friends of friends over and once their parent/guardian signed a waver, we’d take them out riding.

Currently a House and a Dog sitter (been doing intermittently for the last year)
I am responsible for taking a buncha’ dogs (including mine) out for a neighborhood walk, out hiking, to the beach or into the backcountry and then getting everyone cleaned, watered and fed and set for the evening to greet their own loved ones. It has been really good for me to be able to shift my focus to a broader range.
Often I will be responsible for a whole house or sometimes even an entire estate while the residents are away traveling for leisure or work themselves. I keep everything functioning and running normally, keep the gardens and orchards alive and well, and the animals too, as well as exercised and loved and happy.

Lift Operator at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, June – September 2019
Last summer from early June 2019 to Late September I worked as a lift operator at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on the Bridger Gondola. My main position was concerned with operating the Gondola, customer safety and service, managing the weather via the radar constantly, as our biggest risk to the giant metal machine was reoccurring lightnight storms. We were to shut down lift during questionable weather by climbing on the stagnant lift and putting the grounding clamp on to redirect possible lightning strikes to the ground. We also had to explain to customers why they were being prohibited from riding the gondola up or down. The ones at the top had to remain safely inside the restaurant until the weather was clear from harm and we were able to reboot the lift.

Dog Day Care at Play Wash Pint in Chattanooga, December – June 2019/2020
I work currently at a dog park, brewery, boarding / daycare facility in Chattanooga, TN. This is one of my favorite jobs to date, I love each and everyone I work with, mostly women, and I work for the most part in the day care department which means I am with dogs usually for 10 hours a day. In the afternoon, we open the bar / dog park to the public and take the daycare dogs in a separate yard for the remaining hours of my shift. I do work as a ruff ranger occasionally, patrolling the park to make sure the dogs are all playing accordingly and it’s a safe happy environment for everyone, as well as keeping an extra eye on the day care dogs and cleaning up after everyone’s mess/ answering questions. It’s a very multi dimensional task. I also take up a few internal bar shifts from now and again, but it is not my main role in the business.

Hobbies/Interest/Travel
Photography is my passion and my chosen field of collegiate study (with a minor in journalism). I’ve been interested in it for as long as I can remember; my camera became a body appendage. My interest exploded into obsession after our 2009 family trip to Africa during which I both slept and ate with my dad’s Canon around my neck.
•I’ve taken three high school classes in the Arts, one each year thus far. My freshman year I took Photography, sophomore year, Art, and junior year, A.P. Digital Photography. Senior year I took Ceramics and Art History in order to get a different perspective of Art.
•Traveling is my second biggest area of interest; staying in one place never satisfies me for long. I have been to England, Wales, France, Mexico, and Kenya, as well as multiple U.S. states, and I intend to take semesters abroad in each of my last three years of college.
•My dogs and I took an 8 month long road trip around the United States. We camped each night in public land in our small off-roading teardrop trailer. We hiked or backpacked each day or so, using only our intuition, each other and our knowledge of the backcountry as protection. During of which, my husky got into a braul with 4-5 beavers defending their den, and almost lost his leg and/ or his life. I had to jump in, kick two beavers in the face and drag my dog out of the watering hole in almost freezing temperatures at the end of autumn in New York. I got pneumonia and he got stitches and a rabies booster. And we both got really lucky to have found each other. I’d confidently say that this style of life centered me the most into myself. I fell in love with solo traveling (with my dogs of course)
•I’ve lived in an off the grid cabin in Haines, AK without running water or electricity or gas in the summertime with my boyfriend at the time. He was working as a lab technician for the Department of Transportation and was gone 18 hours a day, with a day off every 5 days. It’s safe to say my husky (puppy at the time) and I fended for each other and ourselves for most of the day.
