Formulated transparent and opaque colored films using pigments and dyes. Also formulated colors that were only visible under UV lighting.

Formulated clear flame retardant PC film.

Set up operations for producing hot melt adhesive in house and supervised the production of the adhesives and coatings.

Specified and purchased raw materials for making the adhesives and coatings, as well as for colored films.

Tested films for color, UV resistance, tensile/elongation, adhesive properties, and printability.

Tested PC, PVC, and PP clear and colored formulations using a lab extrusion line, and a Brabender torque rheometer.

Developed new test procedures, such as black light test for UV absorber, and tests to determine types of plastic.

Provided technical help for product development.

Created Excel files for color formulas that automatically adjusted feeder settings for changes in gauge and calculated yards of film for given batch sizes and amounts of resin. Also created Excel files for tracking inventory, and converting transmission values to optical density.

Wrote MSDS, SOP, and trial documents using MS Word.
