Responsible for management of the Health Equity department’s strategy and execution of strategic program plans, multi-tasking and managing time of project delivery by the project managers.

Gather data, review where there are disparity gaps in healthcare and change processes, policies, electronic medical record (EMR) and procedures to decrease disparities and enhance access to care.

Analyze and review disparate data to ensure it is clean and usable data, if so, develop programs and projects to address disparities.

Provide support and management in tracking metrics, legal coordination with contracts, provide grant support, communication plans, own relationships with contractors/vendors and operational processes fulfillment and requirements.

Works closely with IU Health’s Community Health department on Social Determinates of Health (SDOH) initiatives and programs

Responsible for kicking off the We Ask Before We Care campaign (WABWC), through capturing robust data on Race, Ethnicity, and Language. The capture rate increased by 5% within the first 3 months, currently trending at 97%. This initiative encompassed system-wide team member training, changes to the EMR and a full external marketing plan.

Responsible for capturing Sexual Orientation and Gender Identify (SOGI) data as a second phase to (WABWC).

Works closely with the Diversity and Inclusion office, Office of Transformation (change management), and System Strategy to ensure alignment on strategic planning initiatives.

Implement training for Clinicians and Registration staff on the following: Trauma Informed Care, Race, Ethnicity, Language, SOGI (sexual orientation and gender identity), Equity Talk (Empathic Communication) and other training needed to provide our patients and communities with the best care possible.

Implemented the first BIPOC Doula program at Riley Children’s Hospital.
