My work experience has a very broad spectrum of skills most of which has been in the service/construction industry. I was born into a blue collar middle class family, we had a restaurant my family ran when I was young. As a 5y old kid my grandfather had me wiping down tables and working way back then. My first job was working at a convenience. Store stocking shelves at 12 years old. My next job was working in a fast food restaurant from 14 to 17. I then started working around Rosemont at the theater/,exposition center, All State Arena setting up and breaking down events. After those dead end jobs I started in construction. Had a short lived time roofing/demo/framing and remodeling. I had a good friend that family had a locksmith business and I started delivering safes and getting educated in the business. I instantly fell in love with the job. I was helping people and learning a quality skill. I actually stayed and enjoyed the work, gave ma a new confidence. Locksmiths do a very wide variety of things other than locks, locks nowadays are integrated into access control and fire systems. Need to know code and safety standards of the industry, I worked in the field until 2008 and like everyone else I was laid off. After not being able for the first time in my life I decided to go to school, the classes involved electrical systems, carpentry, fire/burger, codes/standard, computers, networking/fiber optic theory. I graduated with a 3.7 attendance 97%
After graduation I worked for Tyco in their fire/sprinkler division and enjoyed the work but the salary wasn’t up to par. I went back to locksmithing and after went back into access control, cctv, burg, weapons protection install/service.
Being in the business dealing with all kinds of personalities I can truly say the customers love me and my work ethic. I install and train the customers so they’re comfortable using the equipment before I leave. I’ve got great communication skills and enjoy what I do for customers.
