Manufacturing Engineering: Functioned as an engineering liaison (single point of contact) for medium size engine team at the manufacturing facility. Monitored current product for defects and worked with cross functional teams to resolve issues. Managed issues list for NPI (New Product Introduction) projects and met with application engineering teams to create solutions to a large array of problems. Worked closely with planning and quality management to fix broken processes and improve quality numbers. Managed outside suppliers building tooling for the production line and was in charge of implementation. Worked on several 6 Sigma projects as an engineering representative, where my background in design was able to be employed to exceed our team goals.
Project Engineer: Designed and detailed, using solid modeling software, for numerous projects both in house and on site at several Caterpillar facilities. Projects include design of the following: castings, hydraulic lines, electrical harness, gears, assemblies (top down modeling), and other special project work for ergonomics.

Actalent (on-site at Volvo Trucks) Design Engineer – Greensboro NC Worked with advanced engineering and EV vehicle battery supplier to concept battery placement on refuse trucks to satisfy CARB requirements of 75% fleet by 2032. Aided in lightening structure of cab frame to satisfy bridge calculation for axle loads. 2021-2022
SSG (onsite at Columbus McKinnon) Manufacturing/ Design Engineer– Wadesboro NC Lead manufacturing efforts with focus on Chester Product line in the Wadesboro facility. Was also tasked with updating old 2D drawings to 3D models and prints (SolidWorks 2020 & Gear Teck software), while updating outdated standards to many geared applications. Also, worked with machine shop for time studies to identify waste and report to Engineering Manager & Plant Manager to optimize thru-put of machine shop to assembly line. Infotech Enterprises – Peoria, IL – Project Lead Engineer Accepted 2 large projects where my role as a lead engineer leading a team of the design of a 100-ton crane truck & an entire line of generator units using company standards and software. Worked in North Carolina at the Doosan facility in Statesville using Wildfire 4.0 with Windchill data base. Designed entire line of portable gen sets carried over from Ingersoll Rand including controls design and cooling solutions. Also spent time in LaGrange, GA at Caterpillars Forestry Division working on track/feller/buncher and other forestry machines. Designed cold start system with all lines routing, and system controls. Subsequently aided in evaluation of welds on cab structures and updated prints in accordance with standards.

Daxcon Engineering Inc – Peoria, IL – Manufacturing / Project Design Engineer Fulfilled a support role as an engineering liaison for Caterpillar at GEC (Greenville Engine Center) in South Carolina. June 2008 our management team was awarded for record low defects on the line. Designed tooling that helped contribute to the 70% reduction of defects and earned 6 Sigma Greenbelt. During this time was also a team member on several projects that were completed successfully and finished according to the customer demands and timelines. 1997-1998
Daco Inc. – East Peoria, IL – Student Engineering Consultant Modeled engine flywheels as an intern at ICC for a cost study to see if CNC programming could be streamlined by use of solid modeling software.

1990-1994 United States Navy – USS Enterprise (CVN-65) Diesel Engineman in auxiliary’s division during an overhaul in Newport News shipyard. Assigned several collateral duties for outstanding performance including: Divisional Supply, Gauge Calibration, Quality Control Inspector and Divisional Training PO.
