Environmental Scientist, Athenica, New York City, NY

Coordinate and conduct environmental testing, investigations and remediation efforts with a team of EPA-certified lead inspectors and internal environmental scientists.

Organize and facilitate project related meetings.

Create reports for clients including the New York City Housing Authority and New York Department of Housing, Preservation, and Development.

Communicate project findings and activities to clients, colleagues and other involved parties.

Spearheaded the development of a new database and project management process to increase efficiency for tracking customer activities and accounts using Excel and VBA.

Led build-out of new mobile application for field and office coordination, which involved hiring and managing an external software development firm, writing application requirements, monitoring project deliverables and timelines, beta testing in the field, and serving as the point person for iterative development sprint cycles. Once operational, the new application significantly reduced the carbon footprint and environmental impact of contaminant testing.

Charged with building a data management system to better centralize the Land Trust’s existing data, workflows, and reporting. Also conducted field work, helping develop, design, and build over two miles of trail that would allow visitors to access natural habitats.

Worked as a programmer and graphic designer in an architecture and textiles research lab. My focus was designing interactive graphics using tools such as C#, Python, and Unity. I also created a graphing program to analyze and graph three-dimensional data.
