June 2021 – December 2022: Research Assistant Department of Neurosurgery University of

Pennsylvania Jan-Karl Burkhardt M.D.

Worked on research projects investigating the efficacy and safety of endovascular and cerebrovascular neurosurgical techniques in USA. Also, worked on social media thematic analysis of strokes, cerebral cavernous malformations, and arteriovenous malformations to have a greater understanding of the patient’s perception of various diseases. Assisted in studies analyzing the global mortality, prevalence, and incidence of cerebrovascular conditions.

May 2022 – July 2022: Research Assistant North Carolina Central University Alex Marshall Ph.D.

Worked on a bench science project investigating alcohol’s effect on brain injury through mice and rat models.

August 2019 – August 2023: Physician Shadowing Carolina Heart Center (Pankaj Parikh MD). Cardiologist.

Learning patient interaction skills through cardiac diagnostic procedures such as stress tests, blood tests and ECG and learned how to manage the work-life balance.

November 2023 – Present: Physician Shadowing Aslam M. Khan MD. Cardiologist.

Collaborated with a culturally sensitive doctor adept at treating minorities and navigating language barriers.

July 2019 – Present: Virtual Physician Shadowing VIRTUALSHADOWING.COM AND PREHEALTHSHADOWING.COM

Viewing live streams of doctors’ experience in the medical field via different case studies and learned about many specialties like Pediatrics, Surgery, Gastroenterology, Internal medicine, and Emergency medicine in the medical field.

Directed visitors and patients to designated locations and discussed ways that they could improve their experience as a patient. Able to feel their pain and struggle.

Played bingo and cards with senior citizens and learned about the struggles of their life

Worked as a server to feed the residents and spent time communicating with residents to provide a more social environment

September 2019 – May 2023: Board Member Science Olympiad Raleigh, NC

Officer of the Science Olympiad club. Lead, guide, and prepare our school team for various science-related events like Anatomy & Physiology, Disease Detectives, Cell Biology, Write It, Do It, Chem Lab, and Circuit lab at a regional and state level, as well as coordinate meetings and progress of preparation for all Science Olympiad competitions.

July 2015 – May 2021: Member Triangle Table Tennis Club Morrisville, NC

Placed first in competitive tournaments and leagues for cash prizes and learned how to commit time effectively and handle failure.
