Applications Systems Analyst 1994 – 2023

Full responsibility for all enhancements and major projects for an in-house Loan Origination system for the entry of credit applications and contracts. This VSE mainframe product is constantly evolving to provide many different financing options for our customers. These changes listed below were all utilizing COBOL/CICS (including overnight batch job changes with JCL). Major projects completed during this period include:

Part of the core team in the conversion of Case Credit systems into the New Holland Credit computer systems – primarily the credit application and loan entry system and the Loan Accounting system (Fidelity’s Commercial Loans).

Part of the core team in establishing a credit application entry system for dealers on the internet that feeds the existing systems on the mainframe.

Designed and implemented CICS screens to automate the scoring of credit applications for credit worthiness. This processed received real-time data from the three major credit bureaus and used a software package (IRIS) written by Experian.

Designed and implemented process to calculate and verify Physical Damage, Life Insurance, Disability, and Extended Service Protection rates and to extract data for automatic transmission to the associated insurance companies (Fireman’s Fund, American Modern, and EPG).

Support Fidelity’s Commercial Loans system including ACH and Lockbox payment processing and for retail and lease contracts. This also includes analysis and design of any changes to this system and assigning tasks to other members of staff.

Maintain upgrades to the tax calculation software (Vertex).

Provided off-shift on-call support.

The VSE mainframe product above was replaced by the FIS product Ambit, a windows-based application for the servicing of contracts. Responsibilities included:

Part of core team in describing all aspects of the above VSE mainframe servicing system for implementation to a windows-based contract servicing system. This 4-year assignment included custom designs, implementation, and testing of the new system and processes.

Daily monitoring of payment processes including lockbox and ACH. Including posting verification and issue research with resolution writeup for vendor

Daily monitoring of Physical Damage Insurance transmission file to Insurance company. Including issue research and resolution writeup for vendor

Design and test changes to the Physical Damage Insurance process where data is extracted daily and send to an external vendor.

Yearly W-2 and 1099 program maintenance on forms and for magnetic tape filing for the IRS utilizing COBOL/CICS.

Headed Procedures committee to document the many various procedures used by the programmers. Later used to train new programmers.
