Oversee navigational operations during assigned watch periods. Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies. Maintain a constant lookout for other vessels, navigational hazards, and changes in weather conditions.

Plot the vessel's position, course, and speed using navigational charts and instruments. Maneuver the vessel safely in various conditions, including docking and undocking procedures.

Monitor and maintain the vessel's stability and trim to ensure safe operation. Supervise the operation and maintenance of navigational equipment, including radar, GPS, and electronic chart display systems.

Conduct regular inspections of lifesaving and firefighting equipment. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operation of the vessel. Train and supervise junior deck officers and crew members in navigational procedures and safety protocols.

Maintain accurate logs and records of all navigational activities, incidents, and communications.

Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including search and rescue operations. Participate in drills and exercises to ensure readiness for emergencies. Collaborate with port authorities and other vessels to ensure safe navigation in congested or restricted waters.

Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate navigational risks. Conduct briefings and debriefings with incoming and outgoing watch officers to ensure continuity of operations.

Act as a liaison between the bridge team and shore-based personnel. Maintain a high level of situational awareness and readiness to respond to changing conditions.

Assisted senior deck officers in ensuring that vessels were prepared for each mission. Reviewed pre-sailing checklists and identified any issues that required attention. Performed periodic inspections of all fire safety equipment aboard each vessel. Supervised the cleanup of the deck when minor flooding occurred. Carried out special assignments from the captain as requested. Maintained a database of all inspections and noted any problems observed. MY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DURING CARGO TRANSFER OPERATION Supervise the planning and execution of cargo loading and unloading operations in accordance with the vessel's cargo handling plan.

Ensure compliance with relevant international regulations, industry standards, and company policies during cargo transfer activities. Coordinate closely with shore-based personnel, port authorities, and cargo terminal operators to facilitate efficient and safe cargo handling operations. Conduct pre-transfer inspections of cargo spaces, hatch covers, and associated equipment to ensure readiness and compliance with safety standards. Monitor cargo stability and trim throughout the transfer process, making necessary adjustments to maintain vessel stability and safety. Supervise the operation of cargo handling equipment, including cranes, winches, conveyors, and forklifts, ensuring proper functioning and safe operation. Direct deck crew members in the proper stowage and securing of cargo to prevent shifting, damage, or loss during transit.

Maintain accurate records of cargo loading and discharge activities, including cargo manifests, stowage plans, and tally sheets.

Respond promptly to any emergencies, incidents, or safety hazards related to cargo handling, taking appropriate corrective actions as necessary. Conduct regular safety briefings and drills for deck crew members involved in cargo transfer operations, emphasizing proper procedures and emergency response protocols.

Coordinate with the Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, and other relevant personnel to ensure the seamless integration of cargo transfer activities with overall vessel operations.

Conduct post-transfer inspections and debriefings to assess the effectiveness of cargo handling operations and identify areas for improvement.
