passed the B. Sc. Engineering degree in the year 1985 at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Obtained my charter qualification as a Charted Mechanical Engineer from the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, in the year1992.

Working Experience

1.)34 yrs. Working experience in Sri Lanka Ports Authority in various positions as a Mechanical Engineer, Superintending Engineer & Deputy Chief Engineer, involving mainly in administration of technical activities in the areas of ship repairs & other offshore structures manned by around 200 technical staff comprising of Engineers, Foremen, Supervisors, welders, plate workers, diesel and marine fitters, clerical staff comprising of administrative officers etc.

2.)Preparation, drafting and typing of technical reports relating to technical matters and tender evaluations.

3.)02 yrs working experience in Colombo Commercial Company in the field of Manufacturing, installation & commissioning of machinery relating to Tea, Rubber & Coconut industry. Civil construction of rubber drying towers including heater installations, cost estimation and general administration of both technical and administrative staff.

Other Experiences and trainnings

1.)Completed one year training course in Ship Building, Repair & Maintenance conducted by the JICA in Japan.

2.)Training in automobile maintenance & repair work at Sri Lanka Transport Board at Werahera central work shop for a period of 03 months.

3.)03month training on refrigeration, air-conditioning, heating tower maintenance & repair work at National Milk Board, Narahenpita.
