I had 4 developmentally disabled adults that lived in my home full time. The program is structured to teach independent living skills to these individuals, with the goal that they may thrive in their own home. Hygiene, cooking, money management, shopping, and public interaction were big parts of these teachings. Medication reminders, as well as administration, and keeping accurate records of daily activities. Advocating and correspondence during doctor appointments, as well as other specialists, for the health of my clients. I was trained in crisis management skills, First Aid, CPR and AED trained, and my home had to meet all rigorous criteria for compliance with California Mentor Network, as well as Far Northern Regional Center.
