Installation duties:

Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit. Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and secure conduit support brackets, using measuring instruments and hand tools.

Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.

Drill holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools.

Strip insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers, and attach wires to terminals for subsequent soldering.

Execute dishwasher, range, ceiling fan, and fire alarm installation.

Install, remove, repair, overhaul, and test electrical lines and equipment, both alternating and direct current in residential and commercial buildings.

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers using appropriate hand tools and power tools.

Work on industrial and commercial construction projects. Tasks include, print reading, job layout, conduit bending, wire pulling, heavy machine and switchgear moving and installation, industrial power distribution and motor control center installation.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixture, using testing devices such ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Proficient in reading an OHM meter and electrical diagram. Ability to read commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance and construction work.

Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

Prepare, review, and maintain documentation associated with facility electrical systems. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as having good verbal communications skills.

Provide assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators, placing flares, and driving need vehicles.
