Dayforce Multi Factor Authentication

What is Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) MFA is an authentication method that requires the user to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to applications or online accounts Why Is Cedar Fair Initiating MFA for the Dayforce Applications? Provide stronger security by requiring users to identify themselves by more than just a username and password, prevent potential cyber security attacks and protect your personnel identification to include banking information for direct deposit.

Note for current Dayforce SSO Users: Your current MFA setup will work instantly. However, please take the time to setup for your standard login account.

3 Authentication Methods For Associates to Choose: When first logging into Dayforce after MFA has been enabled, after entering log in information, the Multifactor Authentication Setup form will display. Select your authentication method of choice and follow the applicable directions for the initial setup.

Dayforce Multi Factor Authentication

• Authy Smartphone App: Set up MFA using the Authy smartphone application. Based on your preferences, Authy can either send an approval request to your mobile device through a push notification or generate a 7-digit token that you use to log in to Dayforce.

• SMS Text Message or Voice Call: Set up MFA using your mobile device. A 6-digit code will be sent to your mobile device through either a text message or a voice call. This code is used to verify your identity when you log in to Dayforce.

• Authenticator App Code: Set up MFA using an authentication app of your choice. A time-based one-time password will be generated by your authentication app that you use to log in to Dayforce.

Set up Multifactor Authentication Using the Authy Smartphone App Option By selecting Smartphone App, you are prompted to set up your contact information. This information is used to send you verification codes in a text message or a voice call. Your phone number is used in the initial set up process. Once you have set up the Authy application, you authenticate using the Authy app when logging in to Dayforce. 1.Log in to Dayforce, the ‘Set Up Multifactor Authentication’ screen will display, select Smartphone App and click Continue. 2.In the Contact Information screen, enter the primary phone number that will be used to receive multifactor authentication codes when you log in. Select the Add Secondary Number checkbox to include a back-up phone number if desired. Click Continue.

3.Select Text Message or Voice Call to indicate how you want to receive a code to verify your number and click Continue. 4.Enter the verification code that you received and click Next. 5.If you selected to add a secondary phone, steps 3 and 4 need to be repeated for that number. 6.Download the Authy app on your mobile device (App Store for Apple device or Google Play Store for Android device); QR code on next page for easy downloading.

7. In the Authy application

• Select your country code and enter the primary number that you just provided in the Dayforce MFA set up process.

• Verify your account

• Click the Dayforce instance to display a 7-digit token (refreshed in 20 second intervals) 8. In Dayforce, click continue and enter the 7-digit token from the Authy App. A confirmation screen will display. 9. Log in to Dayforce.

This option lets you receive time-based one-time verification codes through your authenticator application choice (DUO, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc..). 1.Download an authenticator application of your choice if not already available on your mobile device. 2.Log in to Dayforce, the ‘Set Up Multifactor Authentication’ screen will display, select Authenticator App Code and click Continue.

3.In the Set up Authenticator screen, select a method to create an account in your authenticator app” 1.Method 1: Secret Key and Account: Manually enter the secret key and account name shown on the screen into your authenticator app. Click Continue. 2.Method 2: QR Code: Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code shown on the screen. This will start the process to configure the app with the necessary information. Click Continue. 4.Open your authenticator app and find the time-based one-time verification code that corresponds with Dayforce. 5.In the Dayforce Verify Authenticator app code screen, enter the verification code. Click Continue to log into Dayforce. Logging Into Dayforce after MFA Method has been Selected and Setup Moving forward, every time you log into Dayforce, you will be required to authenticate by entering a token or code based on the method selected during the MFA setup process.
