Experience

Hawthorne Avenue School: Teacher of Kindergarten 9/2023- 12/2023 I managed 17-21 five and six year old students Monday through Friday during school and after school . With Newark Public Schools curriculum I was able to plan lessons with instructional tailoring to best support my students, while they learned social and emotional skills with peers. Hawthorne Avenue School: Pre K 4 Teaching aide 9/2022- 6/2023 As a member of the early childhood team I assisted in the learning and development of youth ages 4 and 5. With a creative curriculum I was able to observe youth and take anecdotal notes while students learned social and emotional skills while playing and interacting with peers. In addition, I was able to successfully plan and complete two performances during the school year so that students may be able to showcase their talents through step and movement. As a member of the residential team, I was responsible for supervising the care of institutionalized youth to ensure NJ state laws are upheld. I directed smooth and safe morning routines, I made sure the youth attend school each day. Bonnie Brae is a residential treatment facility for troubled youth in the state of New Jersey. We are an institution that provides programming that helps youth return to their homes as productive members of society. Marion P. My core duties included enrollment re-verification. I contacted parents to ensure their proof of address for the next school year was verified.
