Production Manager

Oversaw the entire tubing department, which includes 47 direct employees; 10 extruders, 9 expanders, 4 beam operators,17 finishers,2 WIP handlers, 2 coordinators and 3 planners. Daily activities also included indirectly responsible for both the maintenance and QC department. The greatest challenge in this position was to maintain both On time delivery and high quality through the plant closure. The three years closure process went almost seamless with regard to the customer’s view. The plant closed 9/27/2019 with zero backlog and trained Trutnov employees to continue our excellent service. Team did a great job.

•Maintained at least 50% margins for every quarter.

•Hired excellent employees for all 3 shifts. Many of which became leaders in their departments.

•Championed quarterly Kaizen events; From concept to presentation to upper management.

•Under my leadership, the On time delivery maintained at least 93% even when the workforces was reduces from 47 hourly employees to 10. Factory closure.

•Led a safety culture team that created videos and processes that were incorporated throughout the whole company (best practice).

•Worked with IT department to create a visual Kanban System that used SAP data to help plan and schedule the entire process. Helped reduce WIP by 60% on top running product.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager/Production Manager

Revitalizing the Production Department through team building and cross-training. Implemented numerous cost saving processes; including new Packaging and Marking systems. We evaluated, recorded and corrected defected units with a newly created RMA and MRB systems. Using feedback from the RMA system, improved product quality and reduced manufacturing costs on multiple product lines. As the Leader of the NPI process, worked with customers to create new product lines that optimized their production for their unique manufacturing environment. As major customer service contributor, my responsibilities included Traveling to install and service our more complicated equipment.

•As a result of implementing a new RMA system, we reduced the customer returns by 30%.

•After creating an MRB system with our vendors, we established a vendor certification policy that reduced.

•both our incoming QA inspector’s time and our returns to vendor. Our incoming parts continue to improve even as our tolerances tighten.

•New packaging system helped reduced packaging costs and helped eliminate some RMA due to improper packaging. Saving from system paid for the equipment after just three months of operation.

•Under my leadership, the On time delivery went from 85% to 95% while the overall sales increased 25% and reducing the labor 10% (went from 10 to 9 employees).

•Championed a new NPI process, a process that worked closely with customers to streamline the time from concept to first article. Average NPI process went from 8 weeks to 4.5 weeks.

•Introduced a new product line, the Wafer Mover, which appears to be heading towards being our number ONE and most profitable product line. From concept to prototype to customer feedback.
