Duties include translation, localization into Japanese of corporate websites, member pages, marketing materials, presentations, and the creation of Japanese language videos. Additionally, I am responsible for the recruiting and training of Japanese promoters across Japan.

Executive Consultant - Ambit Energy

January 2017 - May 2022

Spearheaded the launch of U.S.-based energy retailer’s Japan operation into Japan’s newly deregulated electric retail sector.

Developed a team of more than 33,000 Consultants with 65,000 energy customers, making up roughly 85% of Ambit’s Japan business.

First year sales in Japan surpassed $60 million.

Japan Market-Entry Consultant - eXfuze

September 2008 - June 2016

Led successful launch of Florida-based U.S. direct sales company into the Japan market. Duties included strategic planning, cultivating distributor relations, setting up customer service infrastructure, creation of sales & marketing tools, hiring of local manager and organization of distributor incentive trips to U.S. corporate office, resort destinations.

Japan Skin Care Launch Consultant - Coordinated the development and rollout of new preservative-free skin care line between Japanese formulator and U.S. corporate office, working directly with founder and CEO of the company. Project included coordination of design and packaging by U.S. staff and Japanese labeling with Japanese government agencies. Work also included travel to Japan with formulators to promote new product lines at various venues across Japan.

Directed successful pre-launch groundwork of Mannatech Inc. into the Japan market, including on ground market research, strategic planning, direction of office buildout, contracting with phone/computer support vendor, and recruitment and hiring of local personnel.

Independent Distributor - Nu Skin International (Based in Yokohama, Japan) May 1992 - August 1998

Developed a team of 3,000+ independent distributors for the launch of Nu Skin's business in Japan, attaining the Diamond level rewards level. First year sales in Japan were $128 M, a first-year sales record in Japan, second only to the launch of Coca Cola.

General Manager Japan - Utell International

August 1988 - August 1991

Oversaw the transition from local General Sales Agent to independent Japan sales office of the world's largest hotel reservations brokerage firm. Grew the sales team from a handful of staff to 21 staff in the Tokyo office while establishing an office in Osaka with 6 staff. We ultimately developed the Japan operation from an underperforming office into the company's 2nd largest producer of hotel bookings behind the U.S. operation.
