As soon as I received my grade 12 credits from the CCT (career college transition) Program at Centennial College, I decided to enroll in the Medical Laboratory Technician Program at Centennial College, and I completed the MLTP at Centennial. During my placement at Scarborough General Hospital, I learned valuable lab testing experience that helped me prepare for my future career. In addition, I successfully passed the MLPAO certification exam, and I also got my certificate.
My qualifications are listed below, and they will be beneficial to your facility:
Perform phlebotomies/blood collection and ECG tracings.
Maintain client relationships, including responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
Complete data entry of required patient demographics, requisition information, and other information related to processing test results.
Prepare specimens for transportation and testing, and be knowledgeable in the safe handling of dangerous/infectious goods- Transport of Dangerous Goods
An understanding of order entry for laboratory requests and order entries
Collect and prepare patient specimens, ensuring all specimens are appropriately labeled.
Process samples according to procedures, sort and load specimens on the automation track
Perform routine urinalysis procedures.
Collaborate and consult with technologists for problem-solving.
