Proposed, researched, managed, and implemented a cost saving Global Remote access project. Consolidating multiple global dialup and broadband accesses into one vendor centric VPN access, reduced the monthly costs from $70,000 per month to $13,000 per month, yielding a companywide ROI monthly savings exceeding 80% on remote access costs, saving approximately $684,000.00 per yr.

●The servers slated for upgrade usages range covered everything from Remote access, Oracle & MS SQL Databases, Engineering, Custom & COTS Applications, and everything in between.

●My role’s major impact: Co-authored a Consolidated Excel data source lookup that allowed our team to manage the 1300 Plus server upgrade & migration process. We also used ServiceNow, but the new consolidated lookup data set Excel program gave us greater insight and faster lookup of the 200 plus servers per week we were tasked with migrating and managing the process of interacting with the various server environments, applications, and Business server owners.

●My project and project team were cut short due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Pratt Whitney manufactures Jet Propulsion Turbine engines for Aerospace and the industry had taken a major hit.

Responsible for management of the Core Project Team in a matrixed environment to completion of the new network design, documentation, build-out, testing and transitioning to the State of New Hampshire New Core Infrastructure, which supports the entire New Hampshire State Government encompassing 68 agencies (SoNH departments). Our team completed the upgrade and implementation of DR/BC docs and procedures as well.

Recruited and installed as Sr. Project Manager to revitalize the stalled $9M dollar project.

Working closely with Liberty Mutual PMO Account Managers in various business markets, successfully managed enterprise projects spanning several hosting towers. Managed cross functional project teams composed of Telecom and Network engineers, Windows and Unix/Linux Systems Engineers, VMware Engineers, DBA's, BA’s, Applications, Middleware, Project Managers, Security, Mainframe, Midrange and Data Center Operations. Worked on projects that were in process and initiated other projects from charter and budgeting to successful completion. A personal highlight for me was being awarded the honor of selection from the Project Managers group to interact with the CIO at high profile project status meetings.

Planned migration for 10,000 servers, VM’s, SANs, Mainframes, Midrange from the existing old internal network to the new Cisco Nexus core switched internal network spanning three global data centers. Risk mitigation strategies were developed to minimize downtime and increase survivability. A sampling of those mitigation strategies included utilizing High Availability hardware/software, failover to one of the sister data centers to create a maintenance window, creation of a centralized database of the 3 data center assets, which included a high degree of information parsing through custom databases to handle the onslaught of information related to those servers, SANs, Mainframes and midrange units and the affected multiple business tower stakeholders and all 45,000+ global end users.

BMC Capacity Management Optimization tools implementation built on a combination of hardware and Linux Red Hat OS, VMware ESXi servers with an Oracle database backend for the Capacity Management Optimization of the 3 USA geographically dispersed Liberty Mutual global data centers servers, multiple VM’s, SANs, Mainframes, midrange units, routers, switches etc., private cloud implementation. RSA servers and CMDB had to be upgraded and optimized to work with this new app platform. Supporting such a large complex implementation BMC required high level vendor support and vendor resources were flown in from Italy.

IBM Power 5 to Power 7 Midrange LPAR server applications platform migrations for the commercial Property & Casualty applications along with AIX version 5 to version 6 OS upgrades.

Exchange 2010 email mailbox migrations from Exchange 2003 servers in EMEA to centralize US based servers, including all end user’s mailboxes, shared resources, Blackberry services, etc.

Automated Self-Service Password Reset Web Application Project for 40,000+ US based end users voicemail password resets, for use with the Avaya Enterprise Telecom system, eliminating 4000 calls per year to the various US helpdesks. Managing the software vendor Unimax and my in-house cross-functional team, successfully implemented the SSPR program built on a SQL database backend and primary servers running on Windows 2008 R2 OS on VMware ESXi server platform.

The dollar value of projects budget ranged from $150K to $1.5M dollars, respectively.

Resources were procured internally and additionally sourced from external vendors as needed.

Utilized MS Project to develop and maintain the WBS & project schedule plans, SharePoint was the designated document repository for all Project Management plans and deliverables. Project resources were tracked with PlanIT and Clarity.
