Work experience

My name is Gerardo Lozano am 22 years old and will

be speaking about my work experience. started off ata

welding shop cutting steel for the welders and would go

based off the blueprint on what would cut for the

welders. Gave me the opportunity to learn how to weld so

started to weld mig and would do little projects. learned

how to use a grinder,tape measure,hand tools, power

tools, learned how to use forklifts, tellhandler, and how to

do a little bit of fabrication. My second job was Gas and

Utility name of company sitewise were started off as a

labor and my duties on a day to day basis was help the

operartor by his second hand of eyes and when he was

trenching he would normally dig out 2 ft of dirt and would

dig out that extra foot until found the main gas line pipe

and would put the shovel infront of the pipe so he can

make a trench leading all the way to the side of the house

where would install the Gas meter. After that would

help the fitter and get him all the tools he needed for the

job so he can fuse the pipe onto the main gas line pipe.

Once all that was done we would go to the back of the

yard and the operator would dig out a trench from the

back of the house all the way to the pedestals where

would install all the electrical wiring and would install the

wire through the pedestal and make sure put a screw for

both the electrical wires that would hang from the side of

the house. And last thing was make sure we put tags on

both electrical wires so they knew which one was for

which one. Lastly we would test out the gas from the

meter to make sure it’s reading the proper numbers on a

Gas test device. My current job is working at Martin

Merritta sand and gravel my duties consist of watching

my section of the line where watch 3 belts and make

sure theirs no tears on the belts or the flexco splices are

coming off apart since the material that’s on the belts has

to get on from one belt onto the other. also use a skid

steer to do housekeeping and make sure my area looks

good. Also do maintenance change out worn out rollers
