Objective:

I have been in the Chemlab at Wafertech for almost twelve years, and as a quality control analyst at Polar Cryogenics for four years prior. I am now looking to expand my skills. In this objective, I have been furthering my education in computer languages and statistics.

As an experienced lab technician, I am effective in working independently or in group situations, coordinating with multiple departments as needed, and handling tasks ranging from simple replacement of equipment parts to complex data collection. I am also experienced in qualifying instruments to meet company standards and specifications. I am very proficient with multi-tasking and task prioritization.

I have performed most of the training of the personnel in the lab, while accomplishing routine jobs in a timely manner. Over the last few years, I have been taking on more administrative tasks for the lab. My eventual goal is for a more administrative position.

QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST May 2012 - Present

WaferTech Camas, WA

I sample, run and test chemical, wafer, water, and air samples for a variety of specifications. The data is tracked and verified, and where required, reported to interested parties, and uploaded to databases. I coordinate with multiple departments for sampling, non-routine test requirements, and reporting results. I perform time sensitive samples as well as long-term tests based upon customer requirements. I have trained other technicians in the lab while still making sure to get routine and nonroutine samples analyzed in a timely manner. I have been given more responsibility in administrative tasks, such as data collection, categorizing old documents, and some auditing.

I tested pure and mixed gases for industrial, food, high purity, Semiconductor, and medical fields. I worked within the scope of Government, ISO, FDA, medical, and customer requirements for analysis of product. I assisted in company transformation after merger from Polar Cryogenic to Matheson specs, trained new employees, conducted the majority of analysis of medical product, and conducted method development. I created spreadsheets for tracking expiration dates of standards that continue to be in use.

Worked independently on multiple research projects reporting directly to Principal Investigators. Extracted and purified potential leading compounds obtained from a pool of over 700 species of Streptomyces, Actinomyces and algae for possible drug development. Designed and developed a method for screening large quantities of bacterial species for bioactive compounds using minimal materials and expense. Initiated classification of Streptomyces species project using 16S rRNA identification.

COURSE INSTRUCTOR September 2007 - December 2007

Created, planned and presented class lectures for a Medical Terminology course. Prepared lesson plans, lectures, and weekly quizzes for 80-plus students. Communicated with students and gave feedback through web-based resources, and trained successor.
