Conduct routine examination works, primary fault-finding, component exchange, carriage internal and external fixtures and fittings strips and rebuilds.

Professional Experience

TfL – UK

A local government body responsible for the transport system in Greater London, England. TfL has responsibility for London's network of principal road routes, for various rail networks including the London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway and TfL Rail.

Mechanical Fitter – Croydon and Beckton DLR (Docklands Light Railway), 04/2015 to 01/ 2022

Fleet tech working shift on exams and projects

CR cab cool upgrade – replace old cab cooling system with identical upgrade (new ducting and vent holes in the cab roof).

CR HPU (hydraulic power unit) motor overhaul – remove, repair, or replace existing high pressure brake units on the roof.

Bombardier / Stadler emergency lighting – wired roof harnesses, installed looms from cab to cab via econtainers. Re-indented and pinned the harting plugs. Installed control panels, battery packs and led lights into the overhead ceiling panels.

Bombardier / Stadler Sandilands project PPOS (physical prevention of over-speeding automatic braking system) – developed own and contractors’ understanding of all PPOS systems. Installed internal wiring and beacon readers on the vehicle underside.

Bombardier / Stadler CSDE (correct side door enabling) in-house installation. Measured, cut, and terminated looms, feeding over roof articulation to the driver’s cab control panel.

Bombardier / Stadler I Tram, Sandilands project – installed sheet aluminium brackets for display screens and control panels. Fitted speakers to the drivers cabs.

Bombardier upstand replacement (structural roof repair) – disconnected all cables from trailer bogie and fed to roof. Removed roof articulation and pantograph, stowing all cables, hydraulic pipes, and chimneys in panto space. Cut the floor off using overhead crane, pulling up and accessing upstand fixings. Ground off rivets, removed cracked part. Cut existing roof rails back to take new brackets. Measured, drilled, and riveted new upstand, and rebuilt c car.

Bombardier roof repair – removed electrical boxes, pantograph cable trays, filter boxes and brake pipes. Cut out and ground off mastic, treated metal, and resealed roof with polyurethane and rubberised spray sealer.

Bombardier internal refresh – removed seating, grab poles, roof panels, vinyl flooring and floor boards, heaters, and gutter pipes. Post-refurb, fully reinstalled. Required extensive tapping holes/ bracketing.

DLR passenger seating re-design (for easy passenger movement) – installed long bench seats, relocated under seat heaters, removed internal side panels, and fitted new vertical and overhead grab poles.

Alstom SA – UK

French multinational company operating worldwide in rail transport markets, active in the fields of passenger transportation, signalling, and locomotives.

Mechanical Fitter 10/2013 to 12/2015

Selected Contributions:

Northern Line Refurbishment – replaced sheet flooring with a modular system to mitigate floor removal for tube removal from service. Refitted all refurbed grab poles, seats, vinyl flooring and coving.
