Ran to and handled all emergent/urgent situations with crash backpack, wound assessments and cares/treatments outside of wound clinic days, tube feeds, suicide assessment for special cells, and assessing incoming inmates to decide whether they may be admitted or sent to the hospital for an increased level of care before returning.

Under the supervision of the CEO and CNO, I managed all nursing/CNA sta, assisted as RN for nursing lunch breaks and call-ins as to not leave s sta shortage. Patient safety being #1 and employee safety right up there! I was tasked with managing the entire hospital ages 5 and up, managing admissions and discharges along with the keeping an eye on the outpatient area. As a new position and being the 1st to “make it my own”, I implemented several changes in policy to streamline everyone’s workload and save the hospital from excess, needless spending and wasted revenue. I recorded daily reports on company designed forms and continually monitored bed count. Lastly, I reported all incidents to the CNO (Supervisor) who in turn notifed the CEO (Manager).

Started as a med/surg nurse in 2012 (Lutheran) for 2 years and then promoted to the oncology floor (Methodist). Both with UPH for a total of 3 years before taking a leap into hospice nursing.
Then on to my 1st management position as a DON, but decided to accept a position as ADON for another company. To this day, I am still friends with the Administrator of my DON position.
Next, I became a House Supervisor for a mental health hospital, ages 5+ with 100+ beds. After that experience, I decided bedside nursing was where I was needed and desired.
Hospice nursing, corrections nursing, and travel nursing to LTC/Skilled facilities are my most recent positions.

Hospice RN Case Manager for 12–20 patients. Coordinate care for patients from the start of care/admitting to discharge or death along with supporting families before and after. On-call 1 day a week and every 3rd weekend (Friday 5pm to Monday 8 am without a day o the week after on call. Medication planner fills and ordering of patient’s medication through the appointed pharmacy. Wound care, tracking supplies, and educating patients on their wound care if they are able to do it themselves. Met patients at their home (homes and facilities) in the Des Moines metro and surrounding cities except when on-call, then I covered the entire state of Iowa.
