EXPERIENCE
Murphy's USA, Granite Falls - Cashier
November 2023 - Now
One of the first opportunities I've been given to work with people in person. I've had so much fun getting to know the friendly customers and my coworkers. I've also learned a lot about working in a retail environment; including maintaining cleanliness and multitasking on multiple things at once. I've received a lot of praise at work but, unfortunately, there are pressures regarding the selling of cigarettes and alcohol that I'd like to move away from.
- Maintained store and stocking duties every day I was scheduled
- Worked the register for long periods of time and multi tasked with my shift duties
- Swept, mopped, and wiped down the counters to keep things clean
- Spoke with customers and made recommendations on sales that may interest them
- Became a friendly team member to others on my team Rev, Work from Home — Transcriptionist
April 2016 - July 2017
I took independent job opportunities from their website which included audio and video content that needed to be transcribed with utmost accuracy to the company’s standards.
- I worked quickly to fill the short deadlines the companies needed their assignments finished by.
- I listened carefully, and double-checked my work to avoid mistakes being submitted.
- I worked under others that advised me on where to improve my work taking their feedback well.
- I was able to learn to use their unique software to be able to complete my contracts.
CCTI, Hudson, North Carolina — Database Tutor
September 2013 - November 2013
As a part of my Database class, I was encouraged by my teacher to take on a part time job in the library tutoring the other students until the class was concluded.
- I used what I learned to help others to understand and apply concepts that they didn’t fully comprehend in the classroom setting.
- It helped me to better learn to handle a database; making it an efficient tool in any workplace.
