June 2022 – September 2023

Mainframe Batch Operations Systems Analyst • Truist Bank

I lead a team of 6 analysts assisting in the Modernization and Migration from TPF 4.1 to the new zTPF platform. I provided backend support for reporting applications like PayFlex and OneStream. My responsibilities include monitoring system stability for various applications using tools such as Splunk and API view, addressing network connectivity issues with reporting software, and conducting complex analysis of scheduled batch processes to ensure the uninterrupted flow of mission-critical applications.

In my role, I manage TPF database operations, including z/TPFDF, and perform routine maintenance activities to maintain system stability. I collaborate closely with developers to validate their code using tools like zTPFGI, IBM Toolkit, and CP trace. Furthermore, I implement COBOL programs, resolving job failures’ JCL using schedule IDs, symbolics, IBM utility programs, and managing VSAM/flat/GDG file processing.

I play a crucial role in ensuring the timely execution and availability of data files in production runs. Handling ad hoc scheduling requests and validating mainframe jobs in both production and test environments are also part of my responsibilities.

Identifying, escalating, and resolving problems in the production environment is a key aspect of my role, including incident management for abnormal occurrences. I provide 24x7 support for incident management, initiating WebEx, contacting support, and managing alerts until resolved in both prod environments for mainframe and distributed system. .

Linux/Mainframe Systems Analyst II • Team Lead • Travelport

In a 24/7 on-call technical support role, I investigate and resolve system, network, and application issues by debugging software problems. I bring extensive experience in z/TPF system administration, proficiently diagnosing and resolving complex system issues. My expertise extends to understanding z/TPF internals, utilizing diagnostic tools like TPF Dump Reader and z/TPFDF, and implementing performance tuning and capacity planning.

Additionally, I am familiar with IBM zSeries hardware and software configurations and possess excellent communication skills for interactions with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Following SDLC and ITIL requirements, I develop and deploy shell scripts to automate redundant processes in both test and production environments.

My skills encompass maintenance via Server and Networking Technologies in Microsoft Windows/Linux environments through VMware, Cisco/Arista Networking, and F5/AVI Load Balancers. I configure routers for E-LAN traffic and CICS connections, reviewing COBOL and ADS/O coding to troubleshoot and provide corrections for batch processing or online abend issues.

Monitoring API requests via Splunk in an API multiplex environment is part of my responsibilities, ensuring multiple communication channels are operational. I configure and maintain network services like DNS, DHCP, and Firewalls, managing various network devices. TPF database management, including z/TPFDF, is another area where I apply routine maintenance for system stability by running nightly Recoup and hourly PDU’s
