Lead Industrial Designer

Managed product design and development programs for new corporate initiatives incorporating Smart Home technology features. Responsibilities spanned UX development, evaluating and managing external design resources, and interfacing with and estimating engineering resource requirements. Led a team of six people, including interns. Key Accomplishments:

Designed from inception and launched a powered and smart technology-enabled high end entry door -the only one of its kind in the market. Exceeded anticipated sales of 10,000 units in the first year.

Awarded a utility patent and pending patent for a unique method of installing doors that reduces the frame size by half, reducing shipping costs to the manufacturer by 20%, and reducing display space by 25%, benefiting the product’s primary clients consisting of big box stores where floor space is at a premium.

Won the International Builders Show – Best of Show Award (2019), for an interior door product which increased sales 15% in a flat market segment. The product grew from 0% to deliver 15% of topline sales dollars and units for the company.
