EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Mechanic - Advanced Food Products August, 2022 – March, 2023

Second shift mechanic diagnosing problems with the machinery and making necessary fixes.

First shift plant maintenance – maintained lights, fixed problems with flooring, painted necessary areas.

Assembler – Huttig November, 2021 – May, 2022

Huttig assembles wooden doors and door frames and sidelights. I have been involved with all aspects of this assembly.

Mechanic – Nissin Foods March, 2010 – August, 2020

I began with Nissin Foods working for the temp agency Encore. I became part of a maintenance team on first shift to learn the equipment and the procedures involved in a food producing plant. I was reassigned to third shift after a training period. On third shift I interacted with both first and second shift supervisors, mechanics and operators.

My main responsibility is diagnosing and repairing machine problems reported by production supervisors. These repairs must be completed in a timely manner to minimize the down time of the machine and must be done in compliance with the SQF policy in place at Nissin. These repairs involve both electrical and mechanical problems not involving PLCs.

Other facets of my job include routine maintenance of existing equipment, ordering replacement parts, completing daily sheets of activities, attending shift meetings, and keeping up with changes in SQF.

Electrician’s Apprentice 2009 – 2010

Worked as an electrician’s apprentice in all fields of electrical applications. Trained in both commercial and residential work in new and existing buildings.

Self-Employed Painting Contractor 1996 – 2009

Worked mainly as a new home construction professional painter. I was responsible for initial painting of new home construction and then touching up any mars created by other contractors before the home was sold. I had to work to the builder’s schedule, so often I had to readjust my schedule to meet theirs. This included rescheduling any employees or subcontractors I had working for me at the time.

As with any self-employed entrepreneur, duties also included meeting weekly payroll, maintenance of employee records for Workman’s Compensation Insurance

Unemployment Compensation, payroll taxes, payables and receivables and quotes and bids of new work.

When the economy slowed down new building, I was unable to compete for the little work that was available and had to close my business.

Painting Apprenticeship 1994 – 1996

Began this apprenticeship while I was employed at Y&S Candies on the second shift. I apprenticed from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. before beginning my shift at 3:00 p.m. This apprenticeship was with a skilled painting contractor to learn, not only the craft of painting, but also the types and uses of the multitude of products that were available.

I entered Y&S Candies at a material handler level meeting my objectives at that time to join the Hershey Food Corporation. My responsibilities included keeping the line supplied with product and make minor adjustments to machines during production.

Assembler/Tester/Team Leader – Clark Filter 1989 – 1993

My duties progress from entry level assembler to tester to a team leader management position.

As a tester, I was responsible for testing their highest grade filter. I wrote the standardized manual for the testing procedures for this filter.

Management duties included directing a team of 5 assemblers in the meeting of company quality and production goals. My teams consistently exceeded the minimum goals while maintaining a high quality product. My team led the company in all major categories to the extent that I was considered for further advancement in management with the company’s Louisville, KY plant. I was forced to decline because I did not want to relocate at that time.
