Production Operator Shift Supervisor

Operates computer console and peripheral equipment to ensure efficient and continuous processing of systems consistent with department and computer operations procedures. Monitors production systems running to ensure that schedules are met and exceptions are handled according to procedure. I can work unsupervised and provides technical supervision for less experienced staff. I am responsible for the PFCU nightly production batch cycle. Restarting jobs using CA/Jobtrac3 and Doclib instructions. I coordinate job abend resolution with the oncall support/technical personnel. Monitor and call support for the ATMs. Provide daily turnover, by detailing problems and updates to open problems. Responsible for the weekend IPL’s. I have the trust of the oncall server support to help with applying update patches for the servers. Answering the IT Hotline phone and doing password resets, enable ID’s, purge the user from a system. I have the ability of opening, updating and closing tickets and providing PC Support for all IT Hotline calls and Production abends. I perform daily checks on systems (HNC, tape drives, ATM).I supervise and train new employees on the night shift on the different systems that we monitor, server reboots and migrations. Modify JCL for input into the CA-7 Scheduler database, and perform JCL updates to the CA-7 JCL libraries. Design, submit and prepare flowcharts within the CA-7 documentation database. Migrate JCL into production through Roscoe. Perform JCL checks with the use of CA-Scheduler,Roscoe and TSO. Create and update problem reports using informan in TSO. Look at the output of the job in sarjcl or sarrpt. All mainframe jobs execute through CA-7. Each shift are responsible for giving acurate turn over for the next shift. Check status and restart of jobs through CA-11. Modify and check jcl before restarting or resubmitting the job. Check the prose of any job that abends for the correct procedures for restarting, resubmitting or force complete the job. Any job that abends must have a problem report sent to the programmer. First shift always follow-up on these reports so that when the problem has been corrected the ticket can be close.
