Job Description

1.Gives direct nursing care.

2.Identifies nursing needs of patients

3.Plans, gives and evaluates nursing care.

4. Admits patients

5.Performs nursing activities, such as bathing and oral hygiene.

6.Assists patient in moving, maintaining proper alignment of patient’s body and utilizing good body mechanics

7.Takes and records vital signs then records the information.

8.Observes medical asepsis.

9.Observes signs and symptoms, institutes remedial action when appropriate and record this in the chart.

10.Reports observation to the Physician.

11.Observes and reports to patient’s emotional and spiritual needs.

12.Interprets to the patient and his family their role in promoting successful therapy and rehabilitation.

13.Prepares patient for and assists Physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

14.Carries out Physician’s legal orders.

15.Assists Physicians when examining the patient.

16.Performs irrigation, catheterization and gives enemas.
