QANTAS is one of the leading long-distance airlines in the world and one of the strongest
brands in Australia. This project deals with the modules like reservation including
loyalty, ticketing, flight operations, catering, crew management and customer enablement
AQIRE is the front-end application that interfaces to the Amadeus Reservations System. It
allows complex host transactions to be performed using a simple and intuitive Graphical
User Interface (GUI) using QIK 2.0. QIK formats and sends entries to Amadeus and displays
the Amadeus response in one of the AQIRE windows. AQIRE requests information from the
consultant via input fields in popups and strings popups together in sequence to provide
work flows. This is used by QANTAS Travel centers' consultants. This provides various
workflows to facilitate consultants to make bookings, exchange and refund bookings.
Main Responsibilities
Involved in creating new reservation modules to the existing booking flow. Any Seat Redemption workflow and introduction of Premium Economy class workflow are the key projects to mention.
Involved in POC to combine the online and offline booking systems by consuming the data from a webservice instead of individual databases.
Involved in accessing the webservice using SAOP UI and consuming the XML to process the booking.
Involved in creating database to store QIK Keypad information to validate the workflow.
Involved in understanding the reservation business and providing time/cost efficient solutions to the agents using the application.
Actively involved in the change management procedures and deploying the code using VSS.

STAR is the services application used by BEST BUY for the products that are being serviced. Once a product is brought in for service, the details are entered in the STAR application by the service agent. The Service manager assigns the Service ticket to agent and all the updates happening with respect to the service are being tracked through this application. The application also provides options to place vendor order in case the parts is not available for repair. Geek Squad team was introduced exclusively for laptop repairs and changes were made to the STAR application to cater the new service team.
