Seasonal work with Sykes for Turbotax Support Specialist. Job ended when tax season slowed down. I did finish in the top 90 percentile of all Support Specialists employed by Sykes. I have always prepared my own taxes since I was 16 years old. I enjoy helping people with their tax returns and while I was still employed with Sykes, I was assigned all the desktop/pc issues calls as I do have an extensive background with working on computers, whether it be software related or the customer just not understanding the software.
Installer
Mediacom - Thomasville, GA
February 2008 to April 2012

After contracting for one month, the operations supervisor Ray Thomas offered me an Installer position working directly for Mediacom. I of course accepted. The way Mediacom does raises is a small percentage per year plus $0.25/hr per NCTI Certificate Course Completed, you can do as many as you want per year and they will pay for them but you can only receive two twenty-five cent raises per year. Sales
Mediacom
2010 to 2010
I completed two courses every year, so I have several certificates from NCTI a recognized school, ranging from courses on how to make great sales, to how to troubleshoot a mainline short. I received Top Regional Sales Award 2010
I moved up quickly, from Installer, to Installer Tech, to Technician, and then Service Tech, all within just two years or so. Next step would have been Maintenance Tech, but there was an unfortunate accident where I was injured. After a few months of going to an Urgent Care Clinic, I was sent to an Orthopedic Surgeon, who did an MRI and found the problem. I had herniated my L5/S1 when I had fell coming down the ladder on 07/27/2010. I stayed working doing light duty, locating cable in the ground, doing audits on the other technicians, doing business installs with a partner, still maintained the top sales in our area. Four surgeries during the period of 04/2011 - 01/13, a laminectomy which failed after two weeks, a fusion at L5/S1 where they took out the herniated disc and replaced it with an adjustable cage, secured with rods and screws. Spinal cord stimulator trial, thought success, spinal cord stimulator implanted, after 2 years, no relief. Spinal cord stimulator removal. I was told to remain at home on 09/05/2011 until I could return to work with no restrictions but my release came too late. I was terminated in 04/2012, I got a full medical release shortly after. I chose to embrace the time I was given to be home with my kids while my wife had just finished nursing school and was working making good money. Now, I am ready to rejoin the working force, cleared by doctors, no restrictions. Contractor

An incident occurred on 07/27/2016 at my primary doctor's office. A deranged man entered the office and pulled a loaded handgun and threatened to kill everyone unless he received all the pain medication immediately. I was the only person who reacted, I jumped on the guy and managed to wrestle the gun away without a shot being fired. I was recognized for being Heroic that day. 11 people including my wife and 3 month old son went home safe that day.
