The test is conducted using Bio Rad CFX96 Real-Time PCR Detection System or Quant Studio Detection System - IVD, a reliable confirmatory in-vitro diagnostic test with five target detections. However, no test is 100% accurate. There will be cases of false positive, false negative and inconclusive results. Detected - Results indicates the presence of Covid-19 RNA Sequence, or a positive PCR result. Not detected - Results indicates the absence of Covid-19 RNA Sequence, or a negative PCR result. Inconclusive - Results are not clear whether the patient has tested positive or negative. This could occur due to sampling composition, presence of inhibitors, mutations and insufficient RNA specifics to SARS CoV-2. A repeat sample collection is recommended for confirmation. False Positive - Results indicate infection, however the patient does not have Covid-19 RNA Sequence. False Negative - Results may not indicate infection however, the Guest might have Covid-19 RNA Sequence. A negative result may not rule out the possibility of Covid-19 infection. This could occur due to sampling composition, presence of inhibitors, mutations and insufficient RNA specifics to SARS CoV-2.
