Thank you for your consideration of my application. I am an action-oriented, innovative professional with over 20 years of experience within US financial services. One of my strongest attributes is extensive experience in influencing and developing partnerships with individuals and teams across large organizations.
While the most recent years of my professional career focused on optimizing marketing investments to gain efficiencies, I found great reward in my proven success reengineering marketing expense management processes from a white paper idea to full implementation. This includes building end to end marketing budget processes for a $2B annual budget, creating invoicing processes to ensure controls and governance were in place, leading exercises to identify and implement vendor efficiencies, and influencing a marketing organization of 800+ employees to streamline a very decentralized invoicing process to a centralized team of 8 subject matter experts. In addition to reengineering the processes themselves, I also directed the change management platform team responsible for designing and implementing the go-forward process. This platform was the gold source for all marketing and financial processes.
I understand the importance of remaining agile in decision-making while also remaining aligned with strategic priorities and ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) remain in green status. Leading in a large organization also instilled in me the criticality of transparency and accountability across all processes and decisions. I was able to achieve this through my vast leadership and execution experience in developing partnerships and influencing executives across multiple lines of business.
Additionally, I have extensive experience in expense and revenue management. While my recent roles at Citi resided within the Marketing organization, all the areas I managed tied directly to the P&L. As my resume reflects, I built an optimization model to ensure every marketing dollar had positive P&L impact and tracked those decisions through KPIs and scorecards, leveraging these metrics to inform future optimization decisions. I also spent several years in Finance, specifically FP&A, during my early Citi years. This instilled a thorough understanding of the overall P&L of financial services.
Finally, I have vast experience in leading high performing teams. Members of my teams have always complimented my management style, my positive attitude and approach, my mentorship and coaching, and my never-ending recognition of above and beyond performance. Many members of my teams were promoted under my leadership.
