WORK EXPERIENCE

1994 to2023: Matrex Furniture Components, Greensboro, NC (a division of Leggett and Platt) – Plant Superintendent / Seating Manager.

Responsible for planning and achievement of plant production requirements. Direct activities of department supervisors. Monitor key performance objectives including production, cost, safety, quality and employee relations. Responsible for planning production schedule based on customer orders and due dates and for assuring that shipping requirements are met. Monitor line balancing and workflow to assure efficiency and productivity. Interview and make hiring recommendations for production and supervisory personnel. Monitor raw materials inventories and usage to assure efficient materials utilizations. Conduct employee evaluations and administer corrective actions as required company’s policy. Move and assign personnel continuously to assure proper balance and workflow. Over the years, I have been responsible for production aspects of several staff increases to accommodate more output and for several staff decreases to accommodate reduced demand. I have also been responsible for integrating new products into our operation, most recently injection molding for plastics parts production. We have added a new inventory system into our plant, help to get it started

up and going in the seating dept. Costing of all seating parts, using raw material, labor

rates, machine time, to make sure of profitability. Working with customer on new product

and helping to design a better seat. Costing of all seating products.

1993 to 1994 Wayne’s Ind.

Began as a lead person in cutting and sewing. Also responsible for making patterns for upholstered cushions and chairs.

1984 to 1992: Conitron (Cone Mills)

Began as a line worker in cushion production; also trained and worked as a machine operator in foam injection molding. Promoted to lead person in foam molding in 1 years. Became supervisor of second shift in 1988. Became department supervisor of molding department on first shift.

1983 to 1984: Dixie Container

Worked in production functions as a machine unloader and as taping and gluing operator on automated equipment.
