Role Outline

Paul and Partners is currently contracted to provide strategic support to the Enterprise Programme Management Unit (EPMU) of the City of Tshwane Municipality. The EPMU oversees all projects undertaken by the City.

My portfolio comprises of the Housing Company Tshwane as well as the Human Settlements Department. I am responsible for overseeing a total of 56 projects, from these Departments, which are at different stages of implementation and have a cumulative value of approximately R25bn over the next 3 financial years.

Role Outline

My role, as a Senior Civil Engineer in eThekwini Municipality, was to carry out projects aimed at developing new or improving existing infrastructure for public use. My involvement in projects was at a central, Project Management role where I would lead the respective teams through all phases of the projects from inception, through implementation until completion and subsequent handover to the relevant client departments.

Engaging all relevant stakeholders to formulate project scope based on the needs or issues identified.

Undertaking Conceptual and Detailed Engineering Designs – with the use of advanced software such as Civil Designer, AutoCAD, Mac Stars and Microsoft Excel where necessary.

Conducting project feasibility studies – estimating project costs and environmental considerations.

Project planning – programming and coordination of activities, cashflow projections and sourcing of project funds.

Compiling engineering documents with all relevant tender/procurement data, contract data (GCC 2015), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), technical specifications as well as drawings.
