LEADERSHIP

The personality trait of being a

leader came early for me since I

have two younger brothers and

others looking up to me. I have

always been taught that a leader does

the right thing all the time even

when no one is watching. Therefore

leading by example has become

second nature to me because I have

had to teach my brothers right from wrong

when my parents or the adults are not

watching. Although I may not be a strong vocal

leader, leading by example with few words has

been successful for me to help my peers and I

to develop and grow over time. I have

contributed to my community doing

community service. I have volunteered at a

food bank as cleaned up parks. What I am

most proud of is when I went to the children’s

hospital to color with children in need to help

them forget about the negativity happening in

their life. The kids and parents were very

grateful and I felt good doing it because I knew

I made a difference in their lives. To conclude I

had to teach myself leadership qualities at a

young age and it led me to more knowledge

about myself, my peers, my culture, and most

importantly how to survive in our world with a

skin color like mine.

Respect, integrity, Responsibility
