PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

I am currently, for the past three years, working as a volunteer teacher’s aide providing support, in Kindergarten, at the Ralph R. Smith Elementary School, Hyde Park, New York.

Upon graduation from the School of Hotel Administration, at Cornell University I spent a thirty year career in the management of hotels, resorts and country clubs. My career involved, with teams of professionals, the management of large and small hotel properties in several cities across the United States. Aside from the rooms division my experience encompassed Food & Beverage, Human Resources, work associate training, financial accountability, event planning, meetings capability, renovation of older properties and extensive maintenance experience. I was additionally involved in Sales & Marketing for the advancement of property sales. Heavy involvement with community interests helping to enhance their objectives and goals while simultaneously enhancing ours.

2017-2020

For the past three years I have volunteered, through Westcop, (a U. S, Government volunteer agency) that provides aides as volunteers to work in selected elementary schools. My volunteer work assignment, for almost three years, has been at Ralph R. Smith Elementary School in Hyde Park, NY. My duties have mostly involved work in Kindergarten, some first and second grades, working with students in phonics, sight word recognition, basic reading skills, writing skills, simple number recognition and simple addition/subtraction.

2007-2017 Semi-retired for this time interval.

2003-2007

General Manager Radisson Princeton Hotel, Princeton, New Jersey Managed this 250 room property with 4000 square space of catering space; Staff of 70, revenues of $3.5M.

•Awarded Radisson President’s award for outstanding operation in 2004.

•Replaced the entire emergency fire pump system over one weekend while under continuous operation.

1998-2002

General Manager of the Martha Washington Inn, Abingdon, VA

A magnificent 180 year old, 63 room, full service inn. Property had been completely refurbished five years earlier. It was located immediately across from the Virginia State Theatre and for 11 months of the year, provided excellent first- rate plays and musicals. As a result the Inn obtained annual gross revenues of $3.6M. Accomplishments:

•Replacement of all hallway, guest room and public area carpet while maintaining operations; repaired roof and repointed outside walls of building.

•Involved hotel and staff with community volunteer efforts which enhanced our stature in the region. Involved hotel and staff with the community.

Cornell University, Ithaca, NY Attended the School of Hotel Administration and graduated with a B.S.
